It reports of intimidation and militia surveillance of Burns resident who may not support them is true, it shows that the town itself is open to infiltration by other militia and militia sympathizers. If local authorities cannot or will not enforce the law the town itself is effectively invaded. Having armed people running around whose intentions are unclear is dangerous.

They can set to expanding their sphere of influence and make the timid Feds back off farther.

I'm not saying violence is the answer, but declaring that you will NEVER use violence just makes these "people" know that they can do whatever they please, wherever they please.
Give it time, there will be other takeovers and other anemic non-responses until they declare that they are a separate nation. Probably called Dumbfuckistan.

(25,966 posts)It makes me feel like there's some dynamic at the government level, or law enforcement level, that is causing a deliberate decision to let these people accomplish their anti-government goals. I hope that's not true.
