I wish the media would stop trying to tell everyone what will be in the State

of the Union Speech. Just let us hear it from the President, himself! Every channel I turn to has pundits trying to out scoop each other. Damn! Maybe, I'll just watch a movie.

I actually don't have regular TV, and watch much of what I want via the interwebs. (Small complaint here: PBS seems to be making it impossible to watch any of their shows online right now, which means I may never get to see the last season of Downton Abbey. Personal first world problem.)

It's pretty amazing what is streamed anymore. I watched all four the the NFL playoff games this past weekend via streaming. And anytime something major happens that causes various news organizations to cover that live, I can always find streaming.

The best part is that I don't have to watch, as I think you are during the commercials, promotions for anything else. And even better than that is that I don't have to watch political ads.

Anyway, hope you are enjoying your movie and the plugs for the State of the Union speech aren't too annoying.

3. These speeches are always published ahead of time.

Does the media already copies of his address that were provided by the administration? if so, then the information was meant to be published. Personally, I would like to see a president decline to deliver a SOTU address in a formal speech. It is not required by the Constitutuion. Until modern times, the SOTU was simply a letter delivered to the Congress by the President.

6. It would be hilarious if he goes off script and changes the entire speech. That

would leave all them looking like a penny waiting for change.

9. Yes. That would be fun. But, if he veered too far off the script,

the media would start questioning his mental stability or something. I still think he should simply deliver the SOTU in a letter, so they can't make a show of it.

I look back fondly on all of the movies I grew up with in the past and feeling lucky that I didn't know what was going to happen in all of them and could genuinely be shocked by things like finding out that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father (Spoiler Alert if you haven't seen Empire Strikes Back by now). Unless you unplugged yourself from the internet or the MSM nowadays, you almost can't really be completely unspoiled about anything, not even the President's State of the Union speech, apparently.
