.....The sailors were allowed to leave Farsi Island in the Gulf at 8.43am GMT - 3.43am Eastern Time - and were returned to US custody.

They had been held overnight for ‘trespassing’ in Iranian territory, shaking nerves in the few days leading up to a deal on nuclear between the US and Tehran.

The US Department of Defense released a statement this morning at 6.30am GMT to say that the sailors had been released and were not harmed.

However Donald Trump, believing they were still being held in foreign waters, posted this tweet around 7am Eastern Time:

...... and clearly has no clue about whatever he's being asked. But he just insists that he's right, and bullies the interviewer, and they back down and let him get away with it almost always. The strongest pushback from anyone came from Bill O'Reilly of all people, when he argued with Trump over his proposed Muslim ban.

Donald Trump’s campaign team have clarified that they have no concrete plans to add Trump’s head to Mount Rushmore if he is elected President on November 8th.

There have been unsubstantiated reports that Mr Trump, should he win the election, would like to have his face added to the famous sculpture within the first 100 days of his Presidency.
