Please turn off corporate media and turn on Democracy Now.

Great news for those who have cut or want to cut the cable/dish corporate media connection. Democracy Now streams online (morning show live at 8 a.m. EST and stream past shows anytime) and works for people who still don't have a lot of bandwidth - like me. It amazes me how many posts I see on DU decrying this or that about Joe Fucking Scarborough or some other asshole show on the corporate propaganda networks. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO SEE ON THE GODDAMN PLUTOCRACY CHANNELS?

Turn that crap off and tune in to Democracy Now for the TRUTH and important issues.

Example from this morning:

Corporate media: Who won the big lottery !!!!! What about Khloe Kardashian's new panties!!!
Democracy Now: Relations with Iran, climate change, environmental catastrophe in California (methane leak).

www.democracynow.org/

Just say NO! to corporate propaganda and lies!

Their website is excellent.

It is archived all the way back to February, 1996.

It is so easy to navigate.

It is a treasure trove of information and outstanding interviews.

Full transcripts are printable.

Democracy Now rocks.

Love Amy and Juan.

I have no cable or satellite connection, Free Speech TV is streaming on my Roku or computer most of the day.

I got rid of commercial TV almost a year ago and other than for sports I have never regretted it.

I haven't been able to stream much of anything because of my crappy DSL. Here are some news channels I found that work with very low bandwidth, I'm talking 500k or less.

WPIX New York
KRON San Francisco
WGN Chicago
CNN (changed format to "must see" videos which is a lot of crap and it's corporate crap anyway)

I must have tried Democracy Now awhile back and it didn't work well for me due to bandwidth. But this last week, I've been watching the 8 a.m. live stream and it's working OK. Yay!!

to have a video to MP3(audio) converter site handy too. In this case I believe it's for any of the youtube videos. First Link can handle very large videos. Second one is the one I've used for a long time before discovering the other one. Both are fast and work great for when data limits are fragile.

http://www.clipconverter.cc/

http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

and you probably well know, the audio size is only a fraction of the data size of it's video counterpart. Video is great for when it's needed, but most news can be delivered audio.

and convert. That's all there is to it! Well, and figuring out where to save the mp3 to.

Also I've noticed my firefox's Flash Video Downlder detects *any* media content on a page, youtube based or not, and allows for all format choices to download to. This one is wonderful to have for a bunch of reasons.

I remember how great the Detroit fans were for Bettis and the Steelers when the SB was played there. I thought they would do better this year, with a new coach and all.

I will admit that sometimes I avoid spoilers and get games on torrents after they are played.

On DIRECT TV, I have Free Speech and LINK TV.

Stations 348 and 375.

Where is RTUSA? I do not see it. But have been watching Ed ever since he left MSNBC. Big mistake on their part.

Ed and Rachel are the only two I watched. I was sick of Joe screeching over his guests long ago with the same 4 or 5 faces who seem scared of him. And I am sick of Trump and Christie. Their very dear friends.

I could get my old station on the anceint teevee antenna mounted to an old telephone pole, but they changed their broadcast antenna direction just enough I can't get them anymore. And I pay for data when using the internet because I am using a cell modem.

Living in the sticks can suck for this sort of thing, but gets made up in a lot of other ways. I can get the radio in the car/truck so I try to be out and about when DN! is on. LOL
