Will The Government Act If Militia Starts Trying To Detain Local Officials?

You wonder what is going to happen with this standoff in Oregon. The towns people won't meet with the militia most likely. To say they you are planning on trying local authorities is an escalation of the occupation. The fact that one local Burns official supports these guys and won't resign from their phony committee says volumes. It says that there is an element of support in the town and they want the land back.

Trying to recruit the Grant county sheriff who is allied with Oath Keepers is another ominous development. He won't comply or cooperate but supports them on the land issue.

So what will the federal government do if this situation gets worse. Right now the town of Burns is in effect a hostage to the situation. And it seems clear that the militia will act against any federal authority that even shows up in the area.

In the end how do you avoid armed conflict. What makes the situation even dicier is the GOP and many of it s candidates support this group and will go ballistic is any of them are hurt. They will portray federal officials as the aggressors if they act.

All we need is 1 cop with really big balls.

He goes there, unarmed, and tries to arrest them with handcuffs.

The militants will threaten him with guns or shove him away... Which means they are resisting arrest and threatening a cop with murder.

He leaves... and now law-enforcement has all the pretext it needs to bring the hammer down.

Send in wheeled tanks and use tear-gas and rubber-bullets and steamroll them.

Arresting people for "resisting arrest".
Cops do that every day.

which could preclude using rubber bullets and other nasty devices, much as those might seem deserved.

I wondered the other day if the low level B-52 flight over South Korea could maybe have been re-directed to Eastern Oregon, just to make the point about who really has the biggest gun. I suppose that's better material for an Op-Ed Cartoon: along the lines of the great big bird taking back the Refuge.

They are like ISIS in that respect: They want a military build-up, because it would make them legitimate opposition to the US-government. "Do you see how they are preparing to oppress us?"

Instead, send them a simple message:
"You are under suspicion of breaking and entering, armed sedition, lethal threats against federal agents, making terrorist threats against the US, theft, computer fraud and abuse, computer espionage, and vandalism.
You either come out, we arrest you, clear this up and we'll see what we can do for you.
Or you stay where you are, we arrest you, you go to jail for 30 years and in the meantime we charge your families a few $100,000 each for the expenses you have cost this county. The offer expires in 24 hours."

Right now the feds are so 'Ruby Ridge/Waco' paranoid, they won't do anything!

They will dump it on local law enforcement to deal with, and the locals don't have the manpower or assets to do much of anything...and the state also will do nothing, in the hopes that the feds will!

If the occupiers begin to "arrest" and "try" local officials or even BLM employees, the feds will sit down to negotiate...but under no circumstance is their any scenario in which the feds will confront the Bundy group!

Either the feds have a plan to end this, or they will do exactly what they did with the Bundy stand off in Nevada, I'm thinking it'll be the latter and not the former!!!

Instead they'll content themselves with play-acting judge and jury in their make believe kangaroo "People's Courts", writing and 'publishing' their grandiose legal decisions against anyone they're mad at and convincing each other of what great Constitutional scholars and patriots they are,

road blocks at the Bundy fiasco and the Feds didn't do anything. When they stop the wrong person they will get the fight they are looking for. The militia wannabes aren't the only ones with a gun. Eventually it will come to a head. Like early summer when the tourist season starts and the businesses start to lose money.
These cowards always seem to hide behind their women and kids. They are all brainwashed and I feel sorry for the kids.
