Christania has been torn apart by civil war between two sects of Christians that have been fighting nearly continuously for the past 1500 years.
Christania is a very bad place to be a woman or a homosexual and the vast majority of the population of Christania supports these positions.
Most people from Chirstania don't speak your language and have very limited prospects for being to able to hold a job in your society, which has a critical housing shortage, high unemployment and a weak economy.
When millions of mostly unmarried 20-30 year old male refugees from Christania start arriving you notice a huge upswing in public sexual assaults and gang rapes on women and violence against homosexuals and jews. Even worse, you see the sort of violence common in Christania start to spill out onto your streets in the form of terrorist attacks. You know not every refugee supports this, in fact the vast majority don't, but the trend is undeniable.
Would you continue to view massive immigration in the form of 1/80 of your population yearly from Christania as a good thing in this instance? Can you honestly say you would?

(24,692 posts)build a magnificent wall to keep those damn Christianians out of my country. Then I would round up and deport any Christianians who were already in my country.

(4,259 posts)The United States has been meddling in the vicinity of Christiana for decades. They started wars and levied sanctions at will upon many countries around Christiana. The misery caused by these unnecessary wars caused millions of refugees. Most people from these war-torn areas don't speak the US language, They didn't ask for the United States to bomb their homeland. Now their homes are obliterated and they're looking for a place to live and raise their families.
Would you continue to say "No. You're not welcome here." Can you honestly say you're that mean-spirited?
I wonder.

Do you know how many Muslims have been killed by the West in the last two decades?
Do you know how many millions we displaced?
Name the Western interests who are still bombing Syria.
Please stop this one-sided sanctimonious bullshit.
We fucking created this mess - thank Bush and Cheney and Bush's daddy and even Bill Clinton and Obama.
I am not joining the divide and rule posse. Sorry.

PBO stayed away from the conflict in Syria for some time and was criticized for it. But it was unclear who to support in that clusterfuck.
The bush war on Iraq is 100% on us.
Do we have a duty to the people of Iraq? Yes. Have they recently taken their destiny in their own hands and asked us to butt out? I thought so.
In any case, whether we are 100% at fault or not at all as the case in Syria... Refugees, asylum seekers, migrants must follow the laws of their host country. You can't possibly support anything less.

(7,804 posts)Once within the boundaries of your nation, the Christianians congregate in large areas and refuse to integrate with the general populace.
Meanwhile, neighbouring CHRISTLAND, another country in the same region who has managed to avoid a good deal of this war-like extremism has also been sending migrants to your country with no trouble at all, largely because it embraced secularism.
No. I would not regard the massive immigration of Christianians as an unambiguously good thing because I do not regard my country as a giant charity organisation. I think my country has the opportunity to extend humanitarian assistance, I do not regard my country as being required by any kind of duty to extend humanitarian assistance.
I will give £1 to a homeless convicted-and-released rapist begging on the street. I will not ask him to chaperone my sister to the ball.
