Marco Rubio: I bought a gun on Christmas Eve so I can defend my family from ISIS

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said in an interview aired Sunday that he purchased a gun on Christmas Eve to defend his family if ISIS -- or any other attackers -- were to visit his home.

Rubio told CBS "Face the Nation" host John Dickerson that he purchased the firearm on Christmas Eve because he's not in town often, but was home that day. He added that he was already a firearm holder.

"I'm a strong supporter of the second amendment. I have a right to protect my family if someone were to come after us," Rubio said. "In fact, if ISIS were to visit us, or our communities, at any moment, the last line of defense between ISIS and my family is the ability that I have to protect my family from them, or from a criminal, or anyone else who seeks to do us harm. Millions of Americans feel that way."

He is letting flying his freak flag of insanity. I get it, the clown car is full of a bunch of people trying to out do each other by being the most bat shit crazy he felt left out. But, really that is seriously nuts. A single gun will not protect anyone against any armed militia. It might help with a lone armed intruder perhaps to, but not a military or even a paramilitary unit that is well armed.

Maybe he's moving to Iraq or Syria after the election. Did anyone think to ask him this? If he is moving to either place, it makes perfect sense to buy all the firepower he can get his hands on.

than it is to fight off an intruder of any sort, much less specifically a Daesh fighter.

Hopefully no harm comes to them, but yeah, this is a stupid decision made by a very stupid man. The sad part is, that some number of people will like him more for it.
