October 2014: General Motors Stops Using FLINT's Water Because It Was "Causing Engine Parts To Rust"

FLINT, MI -- General Motors, which stopped using Flint water at its engine plant in the city one year ago, isn't switching back any time soon.

.....................

Flint changed its water source from the Detroit system to the Flint River in April 2014. It was meant to be a temporary move while the KWA pipeline was being built.

After the switch, GM stopped using Flint's water at the plant one year ago, saying chloride levels were so high that the water was causing engine parts to rust.

"At this point there are no plans to reconnect to the Flint system after the city is connected with Detroit water," Wickham said in the statement.

...the Flint water disaster would have been dealt with sooner. No benefit to caring about people.

Rick Snyder's first name is misspelled. It starts with a "P."
