(35,015 posts)My Dad is making ham and bean soup and bottling his wine today. They're snug in the house and except for going out and running the snow blower, aren't going anywhere. I wish I was there because it sure is beautiful.

(24,761 posts)In front of my house in the Lehigh Valley, we're having 2 foot drifts, high winds, and whiteout conditions.
I live about 500 feet from a Turkey Hill and couldn't see enough to tell whether or not it was open.

(28,394 posts)It has now been snowing for 24 hours, but it's much lighter this afternoon. No wind yet. We were predicted to get 4-7 inches.
It's really beautiful though. We live on a state road, as yet untouched at 2 p.m. There was an overnight backup on the Turnpike east of here. The governor sent the National Guard to rescue folks including the Duquesne Dukes basketball team:
