He used Trump as a reference point. But what he's saying...and I'm sure he did not intend to say it...is that the objection to Trump is that he is the personification of a stereotype, but he's not. He's a Republican without the mask and they depend on that mask for votes.

I'm not trying to say Medved is gifted or insightful. I'm saying he was unintentionally honest, and by that definition, he unintentionally nailed it.
