WTF was she thinking?!?!?

No, not Hillary. :p but Carly Fiorino! A group of children at a day care center went on a field trip to a botanical garden. Carly was there and snagged up a bunch of those children and used them as a prop while she gave an anti abortion drivel/speech. The parents were unaware that this took place.

I, am sooo pissed of that this troll did this! None of my children were involved, however I am just as furious as if they were! I would be howling at the moon mad to any reporter who would listen!

"Report: Fiorina accused of 'ambushing' children for anti-abortion rally"

CNN)Carly Fiorina is being accused of "ambushing" a pre-school field trip in order to stage an anti-abortion rally, angering a parent who was swept into the event.

According to a report from the Guardian, Fiorina directed a group of 15 children, who were on a field trip, to a stage for a rally that was simultaneously taking place at the Greater Des Moines botanical garden.

She crossed a line big time. I'm hoping the news cycle tomorrow picks this up, since the snow is melting.

Sure, she may want to be president. She probably should have played powerball. She has a better chance of winning that then becoming president.

I don't care what she was thinking, because she's an asshole who abuses her workers, lies with impunity, and exploits others' children. What she is thinking means nothing to me: she's an asshole who should be called out as an asshole.

If it's important to you to mount a passionate defense of the mindset of this crazed historical footnote, then you are welcome to have at it.

If you see wanting to be the first woman President as a "defense" for what I have described on this thread as criminal behavior, or for any undesirable conduct, for that matter, I don't know how to help you make good election choices when any female candidate is involved. FYI, IMO, wanting to be the first woman President sucks as a reason to run for POTUS.

As for who "started arguing," well, the argument probably started HERE, so take it up with that DUer. That DUer presumed to tell us all what Fiorino was thinking and defended that point when others offered alternatives.

FYI, IMO, wanting to be the first woman President sucks as a reason to run for POTUS.
If that's the only reason then, yeah, it's a dumb reason. It would be as dumb as saying "I've been an Independent for a long time, but believe me when I say that now I'm really a Democrat, honest!"

Fortunately, I don't know of any candidate who's running for only that reason.

So are kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Then, as avebury said in Reply 9, we can look past Fiorina to the potential liability of the day care facility.

I'm thinking there's a better shot at parents' suing than there is at a criminal prosecution because plutocrat.

kidnapping or interferring with parental rights or something else. If that had happened to my child you better believe that I would be going ballistic to the police and news media.

People are missing an even bigger point.

How on earth could they ( the Day Care Center) allow or not even realize what was happening to young children who were in their care? Talk about negligence. If an idiot politician's minions could grab some of those kids, a child molester could grab one and tak off with him/her. I would say it is time for someone to take a look at the license of that day care center.

If I had been the parent that was swept up into the event I would have been 1) dialed 911 and report that Firorina's campaign was taking minor children without parental consent (i.e. kidnapping) and please get some cops their ASAP and I would have made such a stink about it that it would become a big fat embarrassment to her and her campaign.

had been quicker on his/her feet he/she could have made it a really bad day for Carly.

All it would have taken was to start yelling HELP! HELP! CALL THE POLICE! They are trying to take off with our children. Are they child molesters? Sex Offenders? You get the drift.

I would have been on the phone dialing 911 and getting the police there. And if the children had learned about stranger danger and you could get the children to also start yelling for help that would make it even better.

The point I was trying to make above was how easily a bunch of strangers were able to take off with some of these children. That it got to the point of them being made props to a campaign speech shows that the adults either didn't know what was going on, or if they did see what was going on, didn't step up and stop it.

And no doubt their field trip had to be cut short for this dog and pony show. If I was a parent involved in this it wouldn't do any good for them to allow another visit. There would be no real assurance something unexpected might happen again. And was the day care center compensated under the table? We may never know.
