I am curious now that he is piling up religious leaders endorsements....

(82,333 posts)Technically, Marble Collegiate Church is Reformed, not Presbyterian but they're in the same Calvinist tradition.
I wonder why he doesn't go to Fifth avenue Presbyterian Church. It's literally a block away from Trump Tower. Maybe he just liked Norman Vincent Peale.

(71,265 posts)St Thomas a block away is always called God's frozen chosen.

Maybe you mean ST Thomas Moore where her son was buried from.

(63,221 posts)social thing for her. My family isn't really religious, but when they do go to church they kind of bounce between the Catholic and Episcopalian churches.

(21,691 posts)Still get the smells and bells and communion; the difference being one thinks it's crackers and wine and the other thinks it's flesh and blood. Most lay RC would not find an Espicopalian service objectionable.

(2,434 posts)He is not one to sit in the back pew. No Presbyterians sit in the front pew. This just doesn't fit his persona.

(2,434 posts)Calvinists are the evangelicals and Presbyterians are not. Calvinists and Presbyterians split many moons ago. Presbyterians are closer to Unitarians in many ways. Presbyterians are not evangelical and are quiet and shy about their religion - hence the back pew. Prayer is done in private, not in public. We do not jump and jive. None of this fits the Trump persona. Cannot imagine he would be happy being a Presbyterian. We believe in working behind the scenes and doing good works, not shouting about our beliefs.
