After hearing an interview with a mother as she described how the water in Flint

has damaged her three children, giving them rashes that burn when you try apply a topical solution. That made her realize that the rashes were from chemicals, later verified by their physician. It has also caused her to have liver problems and seizures and has created a number of other ailments for her entire family, I cannot get geeked up about this election and those damn e-mails. People have been poisoned and some of those seeking office have participated in an effort to deregulate everything but a flushing toilet. Damn! Damn! Damn! That mother's words have left me so angry those responsible.

better than they were in the 70's. the usual bs.

the lead poisoning of our citizens, especially our children, is beyond obscene. it is a deliberate crime, and nobody is being held to account. not that that will reverse the health problems already engendered.

minimize the lead problem, but it is true that the Federal standard has gone down over the years. One of my children had a level of 12, and the doctor wasn't alarmed. (We were, and tested everything we could think of but couldn't find the source. Eventually the level went down, but would still raise red flags today.)

My child had the advantage of being well-nourished, which helps children absorb less of the lead that gets into their blood. Many of the children in Flint are poor and are the most susceptible to damage from lead.
