Tallahassee high-schooler reflects on Trump rally

On Monday I attended the single most terrifying, yet eye-opening, event of my life: a Donald Trump rally. As a 17-year old registered Democrat, I was clearly not the demographic a rally in south Georgia – put on by NASCAR and “Farmers for Trump” – was geared towards.

Leading up to the event, I was excited. I never understood the support Trump has garnered and was looking forward to trying to view this election from a different perspective.

But I was surrounded by more bigotry and hate than ever before. Standing side by side with 10,000 other people who – on the outside – seemed so similar to me, but who devoured every hate-filled word spoken to them made me feel ashamed and isolated. I really did lose some faith in humanity.

for this country ...

The right has culled this level of hatred and division and wielded it effectively to win a LOT of elections as long as I have been alive, a half century give or take.

So, we now how this critical mass that we are going to have this thug as one of our POTUS nominees.

Is that vileness, anger that has been so callously stoked that great that we can have him as POTUS?

pandering politicians. The corporate media steered these people to hate thinking it would be easy to control them, major backfire!

I guess ultimately, the greedy PTB took too much for too long, igniting populist blowback from both Parties and now they risk losing control. No one trusts establishment politicians anymore!
