Hit the road, Chris Christie or face a recall.
That's the message of a joint editorial Tuesday from six New Jersey newspapers that say Gov. Christie has no standing in the state following his endorsement last week of Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination.
The editorial's demand that he steps down comes a day after New Hampshire's most influential newspaper said "boy, were we wrong" for endorsing Christie in November ahead of the state's primary.
The six Gannett-owned New Jersey papers note that the governor spent part of 261 days out of state last year campaigning and then continued to travel to support Trump after he quit his own presidential bid on Feb. 10.
"For the good of the state, it's time for Christie to do his long-neglected constituents a favor and resign as governor. If he refuses, citizens should initiate a recall effort," the editorial said.

(12,591 posts)fawning over him. Accepting Christies's endorsement and getting off the plane with him, letting him stand on stage with him, etc are two different things. Why is Trumps doing all this?????

(3,595 posts)They have the ground troops with local unions and county party delegates. The recall petitions could have been filled in and filed in a month.
instead, crickets.

(3,595 posts)stage with Donald.
Recall would have shoved it right up his ass. Given his unfavorable rating, he would have been gone, in disgrace instead of being on the stage with a bigger asshole.

(3,595 posts)he stood up to the unions and cut their benefits. He told off teachers at his public forums. He looked like he had solved the pension deficit. He was strong after Hurricane Sandy.
His approval rating was at its highest.
Dems put up a weak candidate. She was the only ranking official that would dare to run since it looked like certain defeat. Why sacrifice your chance to be governor. Run when the odds are better.
The party gave her almost no backing.
Then the local papers, responding to the pension deal, endorsed him.
One month later, Bridgegate.

(13,190 posts)Barbara Buono who I thought was a good choice. She did an excellent job debating him and even in one debate told him he needed to man up.The stupid ass NJ democratic party politicians mainly supported Christie so the democrats didn't turn out to vote. There were only 33 % voters who voted in his reelection.
