One of the first things he did as governor was give his own daughter a job. That pissed people off, but he gives people so many reasons to be mad at him, one after another, that it seems they forget this stuff rather quickly.

Let's hope he doesn't pick LePage too (although it would be nice to get rid of him from Maine). He would be worse than Palin I think.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who is in a tough reelection fight against Russ Feingold, said his “approach has always been to find areas of agreement, accentuate the positives” when it comes to a GOP nominee. Johnson said he has no plans to push an anti-Trump message in his campaign.

Cruz is popular with the reThugs that don't trust Trump but think Rubio is just an establishment lapdog. It might get more reThugs to vote in November.

On the other hand, Trump/Cruz might be way too much ego for a presidential ticket to handle.

Trump hates Cruz (who doesn't hate Cruz?).

If Trump were smart he would go with Ben Carson. I already predict Trump is going to win more of the African American vote than any Republican since Nixon's era, having Carson as a running mate couldn't hurt.

Of course, someone as divisive and hated as Trump could potentially be a target for assassination. A Trump/Cruz presidency would eliminate that threat.

So how does Trump bring the party into line? It would have to be someone very influential in the republican party, someone preferably younger than himself and someone who could give him legitimacy. Umm let me think? I say, Paul Ryan.

someone ranging from 'not acceptable at all' to 'unspeakably vile.'

Which is to say, almost anyone at all in the Republican Party.

The GOP fat-cat donors are likely abuzz today and all the rest of this week, gathering indignations and counting their millions in support of a third party ticket. If they can't deny Trump the nomination in Cleveland, they'll huff and puff and try the third party ticket. God knows who they're going to support.
