Florida man killed wife due to 'entities' in her body

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 61-year-old Jacksonville man is charged with beating his wife to death after he told police she had "entities" inside her body, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Steve Gallaher announced Monday.

Police were called to the Urban Road home of Billy Ray Martin Friday by neighbors who had not seen either him or his wife, Lou Ellen Martin, 61. When officers entered the home they found Lou Ellen dead inside, JSO said.

Martin has been charged with murder and was denied bond at a Sunday court appearance.

Thursday, Billy Ray was arrested for reckless driving, assault, and battery. Neighbors told First Coast News off-camera they had noticed a change in Billy Ray's behavior. They called police when they didn't see Lou Ellen for a few days.
