Charles Grassley Faces Formidable Challenger in Iowa Senate Race.

'With Senator Charles E. Grassley under attack for his handling of the Supreme Court nomination process, a formidable Democratic challenger will run against him this November, the most significant sign yet that Democrats see the court and the candidacy of Donald J. Trump as twin liabilities for Republicans.

Patty Judge, a former Iowa lieutenant governor and state agriculture secretary, is expected to announce her challenge this weekend to Mr. Grassley, who is seeking a seventh Senate term and had previously been seen as having little opposition to re-election.

Mr. Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has come under fire in Iowa for his refusal to hold hearings on a potential nominee for the Supreme Court after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

The issue became more local for Mr. Grassley on Wednesday when it was revealed that the White House is vetting Jane L. Kelly, a federal appellate judge in his home state, as a potential replacement.'>>>

Glad this is getting some attention; leaving it here for more.

Ironic to say the least,Ms. Judge as AG Secretary of Iowa when ever Ag Company or Organization owes their butts to Grassley. Will the Fundies change horses? Doubt it.

"Mr. Fiegen shares similar stances with Senator Bernie Sanders, including repealing Citizens United."

I would think and hope that all our Democrates would be working to repeal Citizens United.

Get in the game ref.

And Hillary get $2,700 before the DNC gets a dime.

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/contribute/donate/go/

Contributions or gifts to Hillary Victory Fund are not tax deductible.

The first $2,700/$5,000 from an individual/multicandidate committee (“PAC”) will be allocated to Hillary for America, designated for the primary election. The next $33,400/$15,000 from an individual/PAC will be allocated to the Democratic National Committee. Additional amounts from an individual/PAC will be split equally among the Democratic state parties from these states up to $10,000/$5,000 per state party: AK, AR, CO, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NV, NH, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, PR, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WI, and WY.

A contributor may designate his or her contribution for a particular participant. The allocation formula above may change if following it would result in an excessive contribution.

Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in an election cycle.

Contributions will be used in connection with a Federal election, may be spent on any activities of the participants as each committee determines in its sole discretion, and will not be earmarked for any particular candidate.

This is encouraging news. It can not be said enough how important it is to not only focus on the Presidency, but, also on gaining seats in the House and Senate in order to break the obstructionist hold of the "Rethuglicans" thereby actually having a government which works for the good of the people, for the good of the country.

I love positive headlines and all, but this douche isn't going anywhere. I'll have to spend the next 8 months looking at "Grassley Works" signs and bumper stickers. He'll be re-elected. At the end of his term he'll be almost 90, at which point he'll run again - and probably win again. To top that off, we've also got the hog castrater, only she's young.

It seems like the only time we have a chance to get rid of chodes like this is when r's run everything and the country is in terrible shape ('06). If they come up for re-election when they're running the whole show, and the show is floundering, then you can get them out. Otherwise it seems impossible. They just keep getting voted back in again and again. Same goes for our governor.

These polls, and features, and pulses can lull us into a dreamie world
of complacency that all will be fine in November

We only win when masses vote

And we're not making progress

Posting on here is not converting anyone

I think he'd have a good chance to take the seat, and we need a Democrat to replace Harkin and counterbalance Joni Ernst.
