...satire has transcended itself. My God--one of those people has a decent chance of being the next President of the United States. Do we give it back to the Indians--or beg the British to take us back? And would they want to take us?

(1,786 posts)Did not see the debate but given the authors you mention above I have a pretty good idea of how it went and I can only laugh and weep at the same time.
It is pure gold seeing the Republican Party reap what they have sown over the past decade+. However at the same time it is very troubling and tragically sad given that this party is 50% of our governing body and currently controls both the House and the Senate. Should they win the Presidency and retain their majorities in both chambers I shutter to think what is going to happen to this country.
