Trump now in favor of H-1B visas

In an unusual move, Trump said from the stage in Detroit that he now wants an increase in visas for highly skilled foreign workers. He has previously argued for the opposite this campaign season, during which immigration has taken center stage as an emotionally charged issue.

“I’m changing it and I’m softening the position because we need to have talented people in this country,” Trump said at the debate with Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

What could have prompted this? I don't think this will be popular with his supporters.

I hoped when we get stuck with him as Prez this would be the one good thing he would do: ending the H1-b and H2-b programs. For a while there he was actually to the left of Hillary. Now they are the same again and both hate the workers equally.

She calls herself the "Senator from Punjab". Anything to keep my kids from getting a job and to depress wages for her rich friends.

And his supporters won't care so long as he keeps up the anti-hispanic, anti-black, anti-muslim rhetoric. They aren't the educated ones who will be posting their jobs to H1-b folks.

The demographics of Trump voters are interesting. Slightly over half of Trump supporters are female, about half are between 45 and 64 years of age with another 34 percent being over 65 years old and less than two percent younger than 30. One half of his voters have a high school education or less compared to 19 percent with a college or post-graduate degree. Slightly over one third of his supporters earn less than $50,000 per year while 11 percent earn over $100,000 per year.

There's a slice of higher income, higher educated people in the mix

It's another eight years of Democratic White House. I'm confident that you are okay with that.
