since he asked for a pledge to acknowledge the scientific consensus about climate change.. and all Marco does is talk about the costs it could incur and sure the climate is changing, it's always changing, India will keep polluting...
Update: I was saying this ironically - the rules were clear - Mayor Regalado created a question meant to force a yes or no on climate change. He does believe in it and Miami is sinking. So Rubio's answer SHOULD make him unendorse.

(39,312 posts)Don't understand why he endorsed Rubio if climate is his thing and Rubio is a puppet of the Koch Bros.
Sounds like a way to have his cake (koch) and eat it.

(43,889 posts)So I know something about your feeling of displacement.
I can give you more details and would love to discuss this with you.
But I'm heading out to dinner at the moment. I'll check back in a few hours.
Things get better.

(135,425 posts)Democrats are committed to curbing the effects of climate change, protecting Americas natural resources, and ensuring the quality of our air, water, and land for future generations. From investing in clean-energy to protecting our ecosystems, the Obama administration and Democrats are working to address our biggest environmental challenges, paving the way to a more sustainable America.
Heres what Democrats and President Obama have done:
Under the Obama administration, the Department of Transportation and the EPA issued new fuel-economy standards, the first meaningful increases in fuel economy for cars and light trucks in decades.
Weve increased our use of solar energy twenty fold since President Obama took office, and tripled our electricity produced by wind power.
In June 2013, President Obama laid out a Climate Action Plan to reduce the harmful effects of climate change.
President Obama instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to take steps to regulate carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants, which are the largest concentrated source of emissions in the United States. These proposed steps will reduce carbon pollution 30% from 2005 levels by 2030.
And in November of 2014, the President announced a landmark agreement with China to work together to reduce carbon pollution in the next 15 years.
For decades it has been clear that the way Americans produce and consume energy is not sustainable. Democrats are committed to sustainable solutions to protect our environment and grow our economy.
It will take all of us acting together workers and entrepreneurs, scientists and citizens, the public and the private sectorto address the challenge of climate change and seize our clean-energy future.

(135,425 posts)The question posed to Marco Rubio, who was endorsed by the Miami Mayor (who has gotten a lot of coverage for his proactive approach to rising water levels in Miami) was all about climate change.
Marco waffled on what caused it.
That's the subtext of this entire thread.
The reason we are talking about the mayor of Miami at all is BECAUSE Marco was asked a "climate change" question in the context of the mayor's endorsement.
You have to go back, past the thread starter, to the debate to get the full measure and context.
Also, I think you need to re-read the thread starting post.

(135,425 posts)Confused as to my meaning?
http://www.wordreference.com/es/en/translation.asp?spen=regalo
Rubio tried to be too clever by half--he should have said "The mayor has raised some very real concerns and I want to help the people of Miami" and then run away into some patriotic line about how soldiers are swell and firefighters are the salt of the earth, or some aggrieved bullshit about how "the man" is always trying to keep the (fill in the blank-whatever works) down. That's how most candidates avoid answering a question!

(39,312 posts)He must not like Regalado. Plus, he knows the Koch Brothers are watching and they fund him.

(135,425 posts)It's going to get ugly post-Fl. If Rubio doesn't win the state, he is screwed.
Losing that big endo so close to the voting ain't good.

(39,312 posts)or cause a ruckus. He did not unendorse him, he should unendorse him. I will clarify in the post.

(135,425 posts)he can wrangle the MASSIVE MIAMI vote towards Marco, that he will get a nice cabinet post, or something!!
I did believe you, that he'd un-endorsed! I was thinking to myself "Who is this principled Republican? I didn't know such a thing existed!!"
And really, anyone with that kind of standard would certainly be a "regalo" to his party, and his city. Alas, not to be, I guess!

(39,312 posts)I'm checking on his twitter feed
He's getting compliments for asking - when you think about it his question wouldn't have worked had he not endorsed Rubio - without that he's not relevant but he's created some attention for himself an the issue
I see from his twitter feed that he's sincerely pushing the issue and wrote a column:
