Astronomer overcome with joy at sight of total solar eclipse

after his flight is rerouted over Pacific Ocean to witness the heavenly spectacle

* Astronomer and 'eclipse geek' Mike Kentrianakis found himself in heaven Tuesday as he witnessed a total eclipse

* He could not hide his emotions as he gazed at the eclipse from a flight that had been rescheduled to cross its path

* In a video clip of the event, the animated Kentrianakis can be heard shouting 'I got corona! Look at that! Totality!'

'Oh my God. Oh my God. Here we go. Look at this. Oh my God. It's coming,' Mike Kentrianakis said as the heavenly bodies aligned

'I got corona! There it is! Look at that! Totality! Totality!,' self-described 'eclipse geek' Mike Kentrianakis said

A solar eclipse Tuesday caused an Alaska Airlines flight to redirect briefly so passengers could enjoy the view at about 35,000 feet in the air.

Zooming in, Kentrianakis got a closer view of the amazing spectacle in the sky

This is on my bucket list. A solar eclipse at 35,000 feet. Sublime.

There is going to be a total solar eclipse in my neck of the woods in August, 2017. I already told my family up north they have to be here. We won't get quite the view as this one, but I am looking forward to it anyway.

So far I am thinking we will be at my daughters house because she has a larger view, but I want to set cameras up at our house to see what it looked like there.

I remember a partial eclipse around 20 years ago and the birds all got still and quiet.
