Sometimes that is the problem. He knows exactly what he is doing. Hopefully today will be a pleasant surprise on the nomination front.

other people he's nominated have been so bad.
Nobody has nominated more progressive judges than President Obama.

The tragedy is that after 2010 he was forced to do it with a Republican Congress.
