http://www.addictinginfo.org/2016/03/18/right-wing-terrorist-planned-to-overthrow-west-virginia-government-with-violent-coup/Deegan was busted after the conference call he made calling for right-wing extremists to launch a violent armed attack on the state capitol building was acquired by law enforcement. After listening to the recordings, it only took the jury an hour to come back with a guilty verdict.
We are at war, Deegan said during one call. The more that come to Charleston, the less (likelihood) for bloodshed. If you see the police coming and pulling up in a vehicle, I suggest you shoot them.
Again, this is the extremism that the Republican Party has built. They have literally been validating, excusing, and glorifying conservative extremism for decades. And now they have even invited extremists to become part of the mainstream which is why Donald Trump is about to win the GOP presidential nomination and why we see violence at his rallies on a consistent basis.
Gosh, I'm sure this will be all over the evening news!

(8,203 posts)- I may not comment often - but I do like to research issues...we cannot tell you how badly AZ is politically challenged since Napolitano has moved on -
I understand your concern re Tuition hikes..we have this problem here - in fact, not only tuition hikes but now a threat of withholding revenue to cities from the state legislature if the cities do not tow the line, and enact rules of their own..ie: gun regulations..this would not have and did not happen under Napolitano...
Here is some food for thought - re tuition hikes UC -

President Napolitano Addresses Myths About UC
Napolitano Asks Riverside Business Leadership to Support State Budget Augmentation for Higher Education
By James Grant on April 9, 2015
Addressing the myth of who foots the bill for the UC student body, Napolitano noted that UC is now home to more than 235,000 students, and that nearly 90 percent of the undergraduates in the system are from California.
Moreover, she said, Fifty-five percent of our California resident undergraduates pay no tuition at all, thanks to the UC Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan, which provides full coverage of tuition for families who earn $80,000 or less in annual income.
Napolitano also dispelled myths about UCs budget. She noted that about 75 percent of the annual $26.7 billion budget is accounted for by restricted private donations, federal research project funding, and medical center revenue leaving a core operating budget of about $6.9 billion.
This base, she said, is comprised primarily of only two variables state appropriations and tuition.
When the state slashed $1 billion from the universitys budget during the recession, that cut was a huge, impactful one. It reduced by a third the states contribution to our core budget, said Napolitano.
Put another way, the state now provides the exact amount of dollars to UC as it did in 1997. Meanwhile, UC has enrolled 75,000 additional students the equivalent of adding three more UC Riverside campuses.
Last November, the UC Regents approved a five-year funding plan that authorizes the university to increase tuition by as much as 5 percent annually beginning in fall if the state cannot provide an additional $100 million annually.to the article, interesting information regarding research done at UC for the betterment of all....
My alma mater - in state college tuition and fees are a hell of a lot more today than back in 1965...
My question, what would you have her do?
When States hold back revenue to cities, towns, Colleges, we end up with a Detroit or Flint MI
Be well Kama, I enjoy your posts....

And the media attention to the report was brief - and it barely penetrated the conscience of the main stream.
Didn't matter that there was small blip story after story of disrupted "plot" like this one.

Parkersburg News and Sentinel
PARKERSBURG - After about an hour of deliberations on Friday, the Wood County Circuit Court jury in the Thomas David Deegan trial returned a verdict of guilty on a charge of making terroristic threats.
In September 2015, Deegan, 39, was arrested after authorities were alerted to his participation in a conference call on Sept. 14, 2015. In that call he and a number of others discussed overthrowing the West Virginia government and using it as a base to overthrow the United States government, officials said ...
... the court also found Deegan to be in violation of the terms of his home confinement ...
