Laura Ingraham Parrots Trump: "Nobody Has A Right To Be Here Except The People Who Are Born Here"

http://mediamatters.org/video/2016/03/22/laura-ingraham-parrots-trump-nobody-has-a-right/209448

LAURA INGRAHAM (HOST): Donald Trump this morning was on Fox News talking about what the responsibilities of the US government is today with keeping the border secure, locking it down. Those who come into the country, that are allowed to be here -- it's a privilege to come into the United States. It's not a right. Nobody has a right to be here except the people who are born here. Nobody has a right to come here. And somehow we've become the depository of radicals and wannabe Islamists who believe they can come here, meld into society, and then complain about society. Or worse, plan attacks against society

6. She's factually correct. No one born overseas, non-American citizen, has any right to come here

US gives visas to some people, not others, based on US interests.

I am of European descent, two of my ancestors came here on the Mayflower. No other country on earth has any obligation to take me in. I was born here, my parents were born here, my grandparents were born here. I have as much right to live my life here as Leonard Peltier.

People born overseas do not have the same right to live in the US that I have. How is this controversial?

She said, "Nobody has a right to be here except the people who are born here." That includes many American citizens.

10. We interpret her statement differently. I'm not interested in a big fight about it.

Arnold Schwarz had no right to come to the US from Germany as a young man; it was a privilege granted to him by the US.

Once he was here and a naturalized citizen, his rights were the same as any other citizen.
