Oh sure big oil will squeal. Expect a war from them. Actually there already is a fossil fuel war going on courtesy of the Republican Party and it's denial of climate change propaganda. Just like the last time the world changed from one sort of energy to another, human to coal, and the power shifted from the Southern plantation owners to fossil fuels. It's so overwhelming the amount of people who think this is a non issue. I was a kid in the 90s and green was in at least with the youth. Now it's 20 years later and in that time we started shipping raw materials abroad and sent back kissed by slave labor in factories with murky air.

4. Right now ISIS is flush with money. Less so with the price of oil falling and the coalition

targeting their financial health. Something has to stop them from showering money on petty thieves in Europe or buying jihadderal for the ISIS troops in Iraq and Syria. ISIS was giving 5000 euros to recruits in Europe I heard on the news today. Give money to some kids who have none, so they can buy some gear, and some of them will do anything. Same thing with poor young men and drug money in Mexico.

5. But your OP is overly simplistic.

Terrorism takes a great many forms and has a great number of root causes. if Daesh isn't gettign oil funds, they'll get funds from somewhere else. Anything to perpetuate their "cause."

That's not to argue with the point that we should get the hell off oil, though. It's just that "becuase terrorism" is probably hte least compelling reason to do so.
