The ESPN 30 for 30 films. There are a lot of good ones.

Just recently saw the one on the Duke case. You are right...the rush to judgment in that was astonishing. Sad that those players had to go thru that but glad the truth finally came out and that the DA got reprimanded for his reprehensible behavior in the end.

The one on Christian Laettner was funny...after all these years people still "hate" him.

The one on the Buffalo Bills was heartbreaking. The obvious pain Scott Norwood still endures was absolutely heartbreaking.

If not give it a shot. I sat there for an hour thinking WTF is this director trying to accomplish.

how many get squashed, or aren't ever made, or paid off to go away? ESPN has a vested interest in protecting athletes, it's their bread and butter. Jocks are a protected class in today's society, just follow the money.

I know I was one who assumed their guilt.

I also remember that at least one of them was no choir boy - Finnerty, I think, had a record.

At any rate, they all got settlements. Wonder where Nifong crawled off to?

18. The worst part is that some people will still insist there was wrongdoing.

Well after the DA's corruption and malicious intent were uncovered and he was formally punished, people still insisted that, "Something must have happened!"

Never trust a body that seeks to burn witches. They've always a witch in mind. It's merely a matter of finding the torches.

The school actively intervened in the investigation, the athletic department contacted and intimidated witnesses, and he got off completely.

Now he is making big money in the NFL.

20. False accusations are more likely to make the media than real ones, I suspect.

Most studies suggest that the fraction of rape accusations that are spurious is pretty damn tiny, but I suspect that that's somewhat less true if you restrict yourself to accusations that get large amounts of publicity (although I'm sure it's still a fairly small minority), and *much* less so if you restrict yourself to accusations against celebrities (I'm sure it's still a minority, but in this case I'm not sure it's still a tiny one).
