The National Enquirer story about Ted Cruz having affairs is BS

This is nothing like the story they ran about John Edwards which involved photos and other pieces of actual evidence of his behavior.

In fact, the only claim the current National Enquirer story makes is:

"Private detectives are digging into at least five affairs Ted Cruz supposedly had.”

With that quote being credited to a "Washington insider".

The article does not provide any evidence from said detectives, nor does it even actually claim that any affair took place - just that detectives are digging into affairs he "supposedly" had.

The Enquirer is, of course, notorious for BS.

And this particular story makes no actual claim with evidence of Cruz having an affair. Nor does it even actually assert that he did have an affair - just that detectives are digging into the possibility.

I highly doubt it is BS. Anonymous had threatened to out his dalliances with prostitutes a couple of weeks ago.. I am guessing in hacking him they stumbled on some things that led in this direction.

Now the NE runs with this.

It's probably true.

But, with that said, I don't care. I didn't care when Clinton had an affair, I didn't care when Gary Hart did... the only thing that I cared about with John Edwards was the fact that he was apparently using DONATIONS to help keep it quiet.. the actual affair.. none of my business and not an indication of his ability to lead.

Yes, I hear people saying, BUT THE HYPOCRISY. They are ALL hypocrites on something.

which he got from his Baptist Deacon Daddy, as they all do. 'It's just a part of me' he'd claim 'marriage is for one man and one woman' he'd proclaim. He did that to help cover his own tracks. He has never bothered to apologize much less to make any sort of amends for that act of exploitation and denigration of others for his own advancement.

It's the hypocrisy. Bill Clinton's affairs only mattered after DOMA, in which Bill defended Sanctified Marriage from the gays. Shortly after his own marriage was shown to be no so sanctified. He exploited us for his own sake. The virtue of those who stand as judges of others is in fact my business because they use that fake virtue to oppress me.

Without the posturing I could not care less what they do. But if you do the 'Baptist Daddy Tango' and also fuck around you are just a hypocrite and a liar and a bigot. That's John. To a lesser extent it's Bill, he had Hillary to do the 'Baptist Daddy' routine for him, he never really tried to pull off the St Bill act. She did it for him.

It's been rumored for awhile that Brietbart had a lead on an affair by Cruz and chose not to mention it. Probably due to the optics it would create with their being strong Trump supporters.

It's not difficult to hire some private detectives, toss some names at them, and then leak the story to a tabloid. It gives Trump plausible deniability with his supporters, and still manages to smear Cruz to an extent.

Some interesting points in this piece

- One of the women is identified as Sarah Isgur Flores, well known political operative, and campaign manager for Carly Fiorina. And that little factoid brings an earlier discovery into question; where the Super-PAC for Ted Cruz (Keep the Promise) curiously sent the Super-PAC for Carly Fiorina (Carly for America “CfA”) $500,000.

- If you look up #TheThing and go back to March 10th – March 14th, what you’ll find are multiple conversations about finding someone, anyone, to report on the Ted Cruz affairs. The group pushing for the requested articles were seemingly all supporters of Marco Rubio.

- also reminding us that someone from Cruz's senate office had an AshleyMadison account. An the lawyer for the late madam said in February had records of interest to Presidential race, but court blocked him from releasing all the records.

Other notes of interest. HMM.

Maybe it was because Rubio dropped out and they wanted to stop Trump, but their plan was to beat Trump in Florida (which they failed miserably at) and then drop a bomb on Cruz to set up a one-on-one with Trump.

Twitter speculators think Breitbart had the story a few weeks ago but got some blowback on publishing it, so it ended up at the Enquirer.

Could it all be BS? Sure. But it's not something made up from nowhere like Aliens in New Jersey or Kim Kardishian running the Illuminati.
