Fact: Mainstream media is protecting Ted Cruz, never would do it for a Democrat

For hours there was a total media blackout on this. CNN shut down a spokes person as soon as they tried to bring it up in an interview.

When the Edwards story broke, it was all over the news in minutes. Now the media is protecting Ted Cruz, beyond disgusting.

Now everyone is so focused on defeating Trump that they are endorsing Cruz who is 10 times more dangerous.

... if it would generate headlines, clicks and ratings, they'd go with it if there was anything there.

I suspect there's nothing to it. Cruz is HATED by a lot of people in his own party (people with a lot of access to the media). If there were dirt this good out there, it would have been flowing out long before now. I wouldn't get my hopes up that some scandal will break now and take him down. We'll have to be content with the hope that being a fascist asshole will be enough to keep him away from the WH. JMTC.

5. Your memory on the Edwards story is faulty

The first time allegations were made, none of the MSM covered them, just Huffingington Post and the NE. Edwards was asked about an affair in late 2007 and he denied it and his denial and was covered. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2007/10/breaking-news-j.html You can find DU threads, but there was no much on this - other than people saying it was awful that people would put Elizabeth through these lies.

In fact, it became a major story only when Edwards, who had dropped out of the race a few months before because he was likely to win few or no delegates on superTuesday and would have had to go into debt to contest those states, was caught at a hotel visiting his mistress and baby. However, the story stayed mostly in the tabloids even then.

When it really broke out was when Edwards confessed to the affair (but not fathering the baby) on TV in August 2008. That led him to not being invited to the convention.

I suspect, in retrospect that many in the media heard the stories in 2006. I suspect the fact that he never became the front runner or even a strong challenger and Elizabeth had cancer, caused many to consider investigating and writing this up was not something they wanted to do.
