UPDATE 3/28/16 @ 9:25 p.m.
WASHINGTON (WSAZ) -- NBC News has released the name of a man accused of pulling out a firearm Monday at the U.S. Capitol, leading to him being fatally shot, as well as a lockdown at the Capitol.

Larry Dawson, 67, of Antioch, Tennessee, had been under a court order to stay away from the Capitol. Dawson was rushed to the hospital for surgery, but he later died.

A woman in the Visitor Center also was injured.

The incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. Monday at the entrance to the Visitor Center of the Capitol.

Sources tell NBC News that Dawson was armed with a pellet gun.

Dawson was arrested in October after an outburst in the gallery overlooking the floor of the House of Representatives, NBC News reports.

A website for a community church in Tennessee lists Dawson as its pastor.

WASHINGTON (KABC) -- A man who drew what appeared to be a gun and pointed it at officers at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center was shot by police on Monday, authorities said.

Police said the suspect entered the center through the north street entrance. He was transported to a local hospital to undergo surgery. The suspect's condition was not immediately known. Officials said the suspect has frequented the Capitol grounds before.

Police said they believe this was an act of a single person, describing the incident as a criminal act. A weapon was collected at the scene.

...the Right Wing is going to harp on the fact that he was a black preacher who was advocating for a $15.00 minimum wage.

Seriously, we might want to hope they DO ignore it.

I realize that since he was declaring himself to be a "prophet of God" instead of yelling Allahu Akbar pretty much draws the assumption that he must have been a Christian, but if you're going to be honest, nothing in that article says anything at all to that effect. For all you know, the god he was referring to is a house plant.

The website appears to be mainly set up to make it easy to donate money with a credit card. Very few specifics on what this church actually does other than accept donations.

He had a pellet gun. He wanted to get shot without hurting anyone else.

But still, we need as many Christian examples of terrorism as we can get to push the idea that we are JUST AS BAD and JUST AS MANY Christian terrorists as Muslim ones.

We keep trying, but the best examples are of Timothy McVeigh and Anders Breivik. Alas, those fell apart when it turns out they are only "cultural" Christians who became either agnostics or Odinists.
