In both parties, people's enthusiasm for voting in the election could reflect a combination of factors -- including excitement about their preferred candidate's presence in the race as well as confidence that the candidate will succeed in winning either the nomination or the general election. The latter could be particularly relevant on the Democratic side, where Clinton is widely seen as the likely nominee and is poised to be the first female major-party nominee. That contrasts with the Republican nomination, which remains unclear given the real likelihood that no candidate will garner the necessary number of delegates to secure the nomination before the convention.

There is a distinct difference here that is being glossed over.

Hillary supporters tend to be older than Bernie supporters (look at any polling breakdown, she wins 50+ overwhelmingly. He wins sub 50). We all know the older population is much more likely to vote. That is a proven fact. The younger generation tends to be more jaded towards the effect of their vote. Getting the younger voters to show up has been paramount to Bernie doing well. This is why he wins when there's high voter turnout. The older voters who favor Hillary are going to show up regardless. High voter turnout means the younger voters also showed up.

The poll would be a lot more relevant if it actually showed demographic breakdowns for how people answered.

That is why Hillary is ahead not only in superdelegates, she is ahead in pledged delegates as well.
