My understanding is that he got into it on a lark, and now that he's doing so well, his ego won't let him quit.

4. I believe if you're looking for easy reasons why he doesn't want the job . . .

better to begin with the requirement it would demand cooperation from him. After a lifetime spent ordering people about, a talent he went on to parody in a silly television show, I don't believe he'd do well at all with the give and take demanded of a politician, especially that required of the President.

And I believe that is the reality he has had to confront these past few weeks, as he has run head-on into the intransigence of members within his own party.

His schedule will not be his own.

This is sinking in with him now I think.

Oh...and he will have less privacy.

given the little bit of his previous life that I know, I find it very hard to believe he'd be able to handle being told what to do and where to be ALL the time.

his own cabinet members. Unaccustomed as he must be to such a response, what are the chances he'll be able to deal with it.

I don't know where, or even if, Trump has gotten the idea he'd be a successful President, but the reality of how much the position will require him to compromise, coupled with the unmistakable sense he'll be in a government ruled by laws, and subject to the willful rejection of his ideas by people who will be well-within their authority to do so, must gnaw in many unrestrained ways upon his psyche.

...he really wants the job.

He is so used to ordering people around and doing whatever he feels like doing at the spur of the moment. I do not think he has ANY idea how structured and constricted his life would be were he to be POTUS. Loooooooong days, Secret Service monitoring every move, loss of privacy, can't go where you want when you want, constant accountability.

He would be ready to blow within a week.

10. So, does the president have to live in the White House?

It's a sort of dumpy old house where people watch you all the time and can interrupt anything. It's nothing compared with his current residences.

He can turn it into a more pimped-out Palace of Versailles.

As is his taste.

The presidential limousine will look great, after he replaces all the chrome with gold-plating.

He has the pot to wake up the bigots up and manage to piss off everyone else along the way. Just hope that the past few blunders might do him in or there is a very chance he will be the worst president ever!

indemnify him from actually getting the nomination. Subconsciously or not, he may only have been out for some attention, and what kills me is the idea that Bill might have put him up to it.
