Daily Mail - Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife

What is hilarious is not that Ted Cruz refused to answer or to dismiss the question, but that he threw in Carly Fiorina to intercept the question. Of course, Carly Fiorina has argued in the past that it was fair game to attack Hillary Clinton for Bill Clinton's affairs. It just isn't fair to talk about Ted Cruz's affairs.

Donald Trump is on solid ground attacking Bill Clinton, Carly Fiorina said Monday. But, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard added, it's not the way to win.

"Of course Bill Clinton’s fair game. He’s a former president," Fiorina told "Fox and Friends," reminding the co-hosts that Trump has frequently denounced former President George W. Bush, in addition to his more recent attempts to tie Hillary Clinton to her husband's fraught history with women. "But you’re not going to beat Hillary Clinton by attacking Bill Clinton," she said.

Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.
'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'

The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.

Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.

But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage – a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle – Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.
