"A permanent war abroad means permanent anger against the United States by those countries and people that will be devastated by US military actions. Hate will increase, not lessen, and the terrible consequences of that hate will be used, in turn, as justification for more restrictions on civil liberties in the United States."—Michael Ratner in 2002

In addition to permanent war, there are so many other actions that will increase the hate directed at the U.S. Our propaganda machine can't keep the truth hidden from all.

Michael Ratner was a true giant of the left. CCR, the NLG, and so many organizations he touched over the course of his career are going to have some very big empty shoes to fill.

RIP, Mr. Ratner.

radio show? Brother of Ellen Ratner? He was brilliant! I'm so sorry that he's gone.

He will be sorely missed.
