Ruling from Judge soon on Confederate Statue (KY)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) ... a Louisville judge will issue her written judgment about the Confederate statue in about two weeks.

The city has agreed not to remove it until that ruling is published and it is said that there could also be an appeal.

The 121-year-old statue is set for removal from its spot on Third Street at the UofL campus.

Judge Judith McDonald-Burkman ruled before the holiday that the city owns the property ...

Louisville was a major center for the underground railroad and the very fact the statue is there is an insult to the significance the city, and state played during that period. Even though KY was the home of Jefferson Davis, the state was not sworn to the north or the south. Most, in fact, were sympathetic to the north. I have relatives buried side by side in KY that fought for opposing sides.
