For those who have compost bins or whatever method, be careful of putting lawn

cuttings from your lawn or other peoples lawns who contribute to the compost. Make sure it doesn't have chemicals in it that were used for the weeds, i.e. dandelions, etc.
We don't allow any other's lawn cuttings into ours. We don't want to spread those poisons on our garden.

We don't have a lawn anymore, we took out our front lawn many years ago, replacing it with drought resistant plants. When the drought here in California got worse we let our back lawn go too. I never did compost the clippings, instead I used an electric mower with a "composting" blade which finely chopped the cuttings and left them in place.

Store produce trimmings go into the city compost bin to be taken to a facility with high temp composting.
Organic or stuff we grow ourselves goes into our backyard pile.

I'm going to cultivate dandelions. Because of their medicinal properties, and the baby leaves are good in salads

And I suspect my neighbors will hate me
