This is question Scar posed on his show yesterday: "Is Donald Trump deliberately sabotaging himself? Does he actually want to BE the president?"
I have to wonder myself. Every day he becomes more bombastic, unhinged and says even more outrageous things.
Apparently, he can't be reined in by the Re-thug party leaders who are wringing their hands and soiling themselves at this point.
What gives with Donald, really?

(2,760 posts)I seriously doubt he wants to do any of the mundane work that doesn't involve sending the FBI after his enemies.

(10,650 posts)and repug insiders just knew he would flame out. Most Democrats thought so too.
So, trump is continuing what has worked for him like a charm so far. It is no big mystery. He really doesn't give a damn about what the talking heads say or the party leaders. He knows how to manipulate public perception.

(11,076 posts)..or if Hillary got together with Trump on this venture it is designed for her to have a controlled win. The only way she will beat Trump is if it is by design. And think about it. Why would Trump want to be president? It sounds like too much work for him.

(3,166 posts)I don't think he wants to BE President. He may want to be ELECTED President, cause he sees that as "winning" but I don't think he has the slightest interest in serving as President. I think it was kos who has said it many times - Republicans love to campaign and run for office, but they HATE actually being in office.

(43,049 posts)history- he has never successfully run a business for long.
It started with Alexander's, a bankrupt department store he was going to make bigger than Macy's. Went completely belly up. At one point in his hotel holdings, the only one he had that was profitable was the one he only owned 49% of. The airline, the casinos, the football league...
After the last bankruptcy, effective control of pretty much everything was taken away from him and he couldn't pay for gas without the approval of an overseer, so we haven't seen any bankruptcies since. But we also haven't seen anything much besides vodka, steaks and ties. And golf courses, but he doesn't directly manage them.
So, yeah, he hates hands on managing, and he's not very good at it anyway. He's a "winner" so far in the biggest game in the planet, but he has no idea what to do with the prize.

(7,768 posts)I have to admit, I'm loving the bed-wetting the ReThugs are doing and their collective horror as they watch their franken-candidate self destruct and take their despicable party with him!
fuck yeah....down the drain with all you disgusting assholes.
We're witnessing an election like we've never seen before. It's beyond unreal.

(30,613 posts)I sometimes wonder if he's in Hillary's employ, but then I think, "How much would I have to pay a billionaire to destroy his reputation?"
So I'm back to "Trump is just fuckin' nuts."
