I am probably phrasing this wrong, and apologize in advance for that, but it reminds me of that.

Just get over it, people, is my advice. The problem is not gender or sexual orientation but people being afraid or acting like jerks.

1. The reality of each situation is the same.

I was in the Army right around the time 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' became a thing. I never even once went into the shower room thinking there would be closeted gay soldiers in there waiting to prey on a straight guy. There was never a problem of any kind.

I kept hearing these homophobic, right-wing idiots in the radio, going on and on about having "to have to shower next to them".

The only thing transgender people want to do in the bathroom is pee or poop. You asshole right-wingers need to get the fuck over yourselves...
