Bill Maher: Democrats Would Be Out If They Lied Like Trump

As readers of this blog are well aware, Hair Drumpf held a press conference earlier this week, supposedly to address his veterans' fundraising and where the money went. The event turned into a bizarre rant against the media instead.

Was he playing the press like a fiddle again in order to distract from another horribly damaging story -- his Trump University court case which is fast exposing Trump as nothing more than one giant con man who separates poor suckers from their wallets?

Trump's constant lying and very bad week was the topic of discussion during the panel segment on this Friday's Real Time. Host Bill Maher noted that there seems to be one set of rules for how they treat Democrats and the standard they're held to, and another one for Republicans, with Trump orbiting in his own universe of lies outside all standards of qualified candidacy.

1. Sounds good and it's great material for knee jerking, but would they, really?

YouTube is full of videos entitled _ minutes of Hillary lying, or words to that effect.

I saw a great cartoon when I googled yesterday. One angry red team member and one angry blue team member and the caption was something like, "I don't care what government does, as long as my party is in control."

8. Okay Let's look at Maher's comment

Of course there is a lot generalization and hyperbole with his statement. But I think there is a bit of truth behind his logic there also. If Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders makes a claim that has its basic facts wrong the press and everyone else are ready to throw the book at them. The distractors will say loud and clear look at how either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton has lied. The distractors will say Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton need to be held up to some sort of standard and always tell the truth.

But Donald Trump lies often. Donald Trump lies continually with gusto and gets caught in his lie with no real consequences. The press never tries to hold him to a truth standard the way the press holds Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders to a standard.

Donald Trump's never has a final cut off where no one will tolerate his lies any longer and placate him with his lying any more.

I think that is what Maher is getting at with his statement.

9. I saw Maher's comment as being about what Democrats will or will not tolerate,

more than I saw it as about Hillary or Bernie. Hence my comment about the cartoon, which was a commentary about both ordinary Republican voters and ordinary Democratic voters.

However, now that you brought it up, those videos referenced in my post are not about factual mistakes Hillary made.

I appreciate your explaining Maher's one line comment to me in detail.

6. How about hatred?

Because if you think what Hillary or any other politician says or does remotely compares to what Trump does, you are blinded by hatred.

7. Sorry, but you're projecting there too. No ire, no hatred, no blindness.

I take it your position is that she lies less than Trump. That's probably accurate.
