Today is the annivesary of D Day

All those brave men, trudging INTO Nazi fire on those beaches.

2. The movie sure went down hill after they got off the beach though.

It had Rangers behind enemy lines grabassing, fist fighting, bickering, disobeying a captain, talking, generally looking like inferior, untrained troops.

3. The late actor Charles Durning was there and became an unspoken of hero...

At Normandy as well as The Battle of the Bulge. He earned three purple hearts and a silver star.

4. I cried the first time I saw this movie.

The scene on the beach where the guy cries out for his Mama.
