The remaining barriers

Assuming that Hillary gets elected (and I think she will), then I guess the remaining barriers to be overcome are:

Jewish president

Gay president

Muslim president

Atheist president

I think that's in the order in which it will happen, and it may be a long, long time before we see one of the last two.

Hindu president.

Buddhist president.

Native American president. (A biggie.)

Asian president.

Pacific Islander president.

Polish-American president

Italian-American president.

Messianic Jewish president.

Judaizing Christian president.

Muslim president of another persuasion: If #1 was Sunni, #2 and #3 are Sufi and Shi'ite.

Latino president. (Also a biggie.)

Alaskan Native president.

Etc.

By that token, 50 years from now there'll still be Americans of Various Identities who feel utterly left out of the system because nobody's ever properly represented them.

(Including my wife, no doubt, who's Welsh-American and Hungarian-American.)
