Source: Raw Story
Newly released documents reveal that the FBI found hundreds of classified documents on a laptop belonging to Paula Broadwell, the woman with whom then-CIA director Gen. David Petraeus conducted a clandestine affair.
The Charlotte Observer reported Wednesday about the contents of a recently-unsealed FBI search warrant served during the agencys 2013 investigation of the affair. More than 300 of the classified documents found on Broadwells computer were categorized as state secrets.
Broadwell was an author who was charged with writing a biography of the former CIA director, but the two became romantically involved over the course of the books completion. Documents pertaining to the FBI probe were unsealed on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Virginia.
The probe uncovered their affair, revealed their mishandling of classified documents and lead to Petraeus resignation as head of the CIA. Last year, Petraeus pleaded guilty in Charlotte to a misdemeanor charge of mishandling government documents and was fined $100,000, the Observer said.

There is an article on this, how in affairs, the woman is permanently shamed, while the man is temporarily embarrassed. She hasn't been able to do anything, while he is back on talk shows, consulting, professing, laughing it up.

(82,849 posts)4. Republicans used to be real sensitive to compromise of classified documents
Why aren't they all coming out and barking about the Man Called Petraeus? Why do I think it's more likely Republicans would want to offer Petraeus the VP slot on Trump's ticket than would ever be upset about his mishandling of classified documents?

(8,767 posts)6. Were it not for Broadway, Petraeus could well have been GOP nominee for POTUS.
Democratic party dodged a bullet as Petraeus would have probably been a more favored candidate than any in the the clown car that started primary season.
