He got the call to drive Gordie Howe from Birmingham to Toronto back in 2007. Not only was it a phat fare, he said Gordie was one of the friendliest people that he ever met.

Last week it was two of my favorites as a teen, Tommy Lysiak and Rick MacLeish. Now, Gordie Howe is gone. We almost lost him a year or so ago, so I'm thankful we got to have him around for that extra time.
