Trump has shown us how far bullshit can go

Donald Trump is an ignorant man. His inheritance from his father gave him his start and he’s been flinging crap in every direction ever since. His main weapon has been lawsuits that others can’t afford to pursue, or just don’t want to be bothered with, so they pay him off.

The man is an expert at putting the “TRUMP” name on buildings, hotels, casinos, etc., that other people have paid for and built.

Yet, Trump is an expert at appealing to bigots of every stripe. He’s been wide open about his bigotry toward Mexicans, blacks, Muslims, and a variety of other “THEMS.”

Imagine if Bernie had won the nomination. Bernie is Jewish and Trump would have put Jews right at the top of the “OTHER” list. (We’ve seen the outcome of this before.) He would not only have attacked Jews, but also communists. Given that Bernie is a self-described socialist, Trump would have converted Democratic Socialist to “communist,” and rerun the Joe McCarthy hatred playbook of the 1950s.

IMO, this presidential race shouldn’t even be close. But I have a feeling it’s going to be a squeaker. There are millions of people who hate Hillary for reasons they couldn’t rationally explain because they’ve been spoon-fed 25 or more years of “Clinton hatred” by the right wing media. (“Everyone knows she killed Vince Foster.”)

So here we are in a contest between an overly maligned woman and a master bullshit artist. It’s yet to be seen how much more slime Trump can throw at her. But keep in mind that his slime is just a few more tons of bullshit.

So in five months we’ll know whether a major league bullshit artist can beat one of the most qualified human beings to ever run for president.

And if the bullshit artist can win (or steal it) we all are screwed beyond repair.

aides being deposed, things like that. Bringing up Vince Foster is a red herring. It's hard to put a simple term on this depth of deception and hubris.

Trump is a con artist. In your face, in a manner of speaking.

They are both leading in unfavorability ratings..

Bullshit called out in a multi-faceted fashion by a cadre of people, each with their own contingent of people who trust them, can be a hell of a force.

Trump's speech today, before they cut away to Dallas, was very tepidly received.

most people don't know bullshit when they see/hear it.

Perhaps Trump has done us a favor by making people more aware of when they're being fed a ton of crap.

Then again, given human nature, it's likely that people will keep gobbling up whatever garbage politicians feed them.
