(6,974 posts)He thinks he'll be turning DEEP blue California Red this fall? Looks like people are dressed and imitating stadium seats And NO, crowd size in and of itself means nothing. But, this clown was promising a YUUUGE crowd today. Like I said, I guess they're there dressed up as seats.
And lastly, while anything that can make Trump look badly, I still don't underestimate this clown nor his crazy followers for one minute, and I sincerely HOPE that Hillary, fellow Dems and surrogates continue to hammer him daily if possible. This man is dangerous.

(11,949 posts)They pull him, or even if he quits, it is all over for the republicans.
Or the same result if he stays.

(3,580 posts)If Trump couldn't get the teabags to leave chesterfield county to come to his rally, he's in trouble.

(6,133 posts)I'm from the Northeast originally, and moved around a lot, ending up here. I still don't understand much about it, but live in the crossroads between Richmond and Chesterfield. I should look further into it, because I find the crossroads polite. I don't know much about the mostly white communities. I imagine they are more like the white flight thing from the 50s-60s.

(1,136 posts)Lots of tea baggers around here unfortunately. My little neighborhood is probably 50/50 D & R, thank goodness. I'm not a tiny blue island in a red sea

(3,580 posts)He didn't get much cheering at his fundie scripted attempt at coherence either. I think the low turn out in Richmond is going to push him over the edge. He told the crowd Obama and Hillary hate each other. Most of his chat was like some kind of 60's DC gossip column.

(3,580 posts)About an hour away from the city. The teabags reared up after Obama was elected but they haven't increased their fans. The only place where I do see their influence is they get on county boards and run in local elections which are pretty much ignored by most people. So on a very local level they have an impact but it's due to apathy. I admit to the same apathy.
My farrier is born and raised out here in the woods and is a liberal so not all liberals are transplants either. But people are generally small c conservative and don't like to change the way things are done.
