Hate is everywhere. Mass slaughter by assault weapon is pretty uniquely American, save isolated events in other countries.

I'm far from sure you're wrong, but I'm suspicious - this list of homicide rates by country https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate suggests that if America is the only country with an automatic weapon problem then a lot of other countries must have a lot more murders committed by other means, and that singling out one may be a red herring.

It occurs to me belatedly that all that all those points about Trump acting as a recruiting agent for ISIS apply just as well in the opposite direction.

Other than that I'll call it Islamist extremism.

And I hope that Democrats don't try to ignore that ideological motivation as the facts come out.
