Another post-massacre rant

There have been at least 12 major mass shootings in America during Obama's presidency, 7 with a double digit death toll. This is completely unacceptable. There has been one major mass shooting and at least 4 attempted ones in my home state (Colorado) since Columbine. Again, completely unacceptable. While part of me does agree with the "bad guy with a gun/good guy with a gun" narrative, there is a segment of people in this country (their name rhymes with "Sheshmublicans&quot who openly and proudly value guns over human lives. I have literally seen a bumper sticker say "I'd rather bury my sons than bury my guns". This is disgusting and sociopathic, plain and simple. These people want America to become a paranoid, heavily-armed-at-all-times society where everyone is ready to blow each other's heads off if they so much as tap you on the shoulder.

The extreme right wing in this country would be okay with a Newtown every single day as long as their penis substitutes aren't restricted in any way. They think the 2nd Amendment means that everyone should be able to buy any and all firearms from a vending machine. They constantly go on and on about how Christian they are, but they think Jesus loved guns and hated gays and poor people.

This is just one example of how crucial the upcoming election will be. To paraphrase something Winston Churchill said once, if Trump wins, the United States and indeed the entire world will be plunged into a new Dark Age.
