The Senate debate on guns is getting lots of attention from non-political people and the republicans

are completely missing from the discussion.

I've talked to several people that are watching it who are not c-span regulars. This might be a politically positive day for Democrats and the country by default.



On a slightly separate note, the lack of republican debaters has made the discussion more substantive and serious.

Make the shameful Republican support of "guns for terrorists" painfully plain.

Make a sensible law.

It's not like the Republicans were pressing to pass a slew of bills that this filibuster is slowing/stopping.
