My baby girl, my little 5 pound Pom. So much more than a dog. So full of love, which she loved to share.
The story, on FB
💔Saddest news, everyone. My baby, Shrimpy, died today.
It was in the best possible circumstances, it's all very mystical...surrounded by friends who love us both, at the Buddhist meeting at my house this morning.
The meeting had just ended at about 11:15am, we chanted nam myoho rengé kyo three times to close--and suddenly she jumped off the back of the couch and landed at my feet.
My dear friend George drove us to the emergency hospital, I was doing CPR the whole way....but it was instant. She didn't suffer at all.
I'm in shock...my dear friend Luther came to the hospital and was the support I needed.
Mama loves you forever, baby 😪.
Be reborn quickly and come back to me. 👼
I'm at Luther's place where I'm with friends. Ittybitty is with me of course.
I'm not articulate when it comes to emotional stuff..... and it's still too surreal. She's my heart....what can I say?
11:00pm
Just woke up after crashing out of shock and exhaustion---am going to be chanting Nam Myoho Rengé Kyo for a while.

(27,813 posts)It is an indescribable pain that we feel when we lose a beloved pet.
When we lose a loved one, we say goodbye to a part of our lives. When we lose a pet, we say goodbye to a part of ourselves - that part of our heart that they managed to steal the minute they came into our lives.

(20,219 posts)You're right, it's draining.
Sobbing for hours is too.
Disbelief is too.
She was only eight.
There were many mystical aspects to the whole event, but that was on Subday. Today, the wondrous is dissipating, and it's an empty place that wasn't supposed to be there yet. It hurts.
Sometimes it scared me, how much I loved her.
Grief...god it hurts. 💔

(8,554 posts)There really aren't any words to say that could ever soothe the grief you're feeling right now, it's so hard. I know that when I lost my dear little kitty a few years ago, I got stuck on crying why did she die so young...we had other fur babies who were twice her age and the shock of that precious critter's early death left me haunted and so sad for far too long.
All I can offer is thoughts of peace and strength and the hope that sooner, rather than later, you'll be able to find yourself smiling again, when thoughts of your little Shrimpy girl come to mind.

I've lost all my most dear loved pets far too early, and through accidents. Well this is the third. She was only eight.

I want my baby back in my arms. She loved to be held, and would lay her head against my chest. Everyone who met her fell in love--not just cuz she was adorable, but because her personality was so friendly and funny.
They say souls know when their time is here, it's pre-planned, so to speak. That's comforting in that it makes some sense of a senseless freak accident. But it doesn't take away the separation pain. I got sucker punched.
God I'm tired of this karma in my life.
