The killer pledging allegiance to ISIS will be removed from the released transcript of his 911 call

Authorities have previously said that during three conversations with a 911 dispatcher, Mateen pledged allegiance to ISIS' leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Mateen allegedly also said he admired the brothers who bombed the 2013 Boston Marathon, describing them as his "homeboys," as well as Moner Mohammad Abu-Salha, a 22-year-old Palestinian-American from the same town as Mateen who carried out a suicide attack in Syria.

Abu-Salha carried out the bombing on behalf of Al-Nusra Front, a terrorist rival of ISIS.

When asked what was being left out of the transcript, Lynch said would not help to "further proclaim this individual's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups and further his propaganda."

Shouldn't a transcript reflect what the person actually said?

Lynch and the Obama administration are playing into the hands of the right wing with this.

Her confirmation hearing was heavily about her being a Baptist from a long line of preachers, she was asked LGBT questions and her answers were weak and religious.
So she wants to edit the facts to serve religion and obscure the motives for the mass murder of LGBT people because of her own biases against LGBT and in favor of religion.

they fear rebroadcasting the ISIS pledge will "inspire" others to follow suit.

But they don't want to say that.

As for Baptists trying to protect Islam, that's almost the funniest thing I have ever read. Almost. Or perhaps it would be, if the context were less dire.

I do believe Lynch would try to protect constitutional freedoms, and one of those is the freedom of worship and practice - but in the US, that freedom does not include the right to violate the civil rights of other people who don't share your beliefs. There is no way that Lynch is trying to protect the shooter, or others who want to do the same thing.

I do think this is misguided and mistaken - but it's not being done because the administration wants to protect terrorists.

Can't have any ties to Islam in the transcripts, can we?

This will not go over well when Obama/Dems are already accused of ignoring the Islamic origins of terrorism. People here in Florida know, so the Republicans will use this over and over from local to state to national elections.

there is no stopping maniacs from having a platform. And I do not go along with the idea that we should never mention the names of these killers etc.

Jun 2016

Reportedly with many references to the mohammed. The manifesto mentioned at the time but never released. His motive attributed to being upset at a study group. Only four to five months later was the record corrected to his ISIS motivations.

Here is how the media initially spun it. There seem to be similarities with the orlando case.

UC Merced assailant was angry over study group snub, note says (November 2015)

man who stabbed four people at UC Merced before being shot and killed by police had planned an elaborate attack on his classmates because he was angry about getting kicked out of a study group, authorities said Thursday night.

Investigators found a “two-page, handwritten manifesto” in a pocket of the assailant, 18-year-old Faisal Mohammad, during an autopsy, Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said at a news conference. The document detailed an elaborate “script” for the attack Wednesday morning, Warnke said.

Warnke said the Mohammad’s note did not mention dying, even though he anticipated a confrontation with police.

Warnke said the attack was not believed to be an act of terrorism.

“There is still nothing to indicate anything, and I mean anything, that this is anything other than a teenage boy who got upset with fellow classmates and took it to the extreme,” he said.

FBI RELEASES NEW INFORMATION ABOUT UC MERCED ATTACK (March 2016)

The FBI has confirmed that a stabbing attack on the UC Merced campus was inspired by international terrorism. The attack in November of last year left four people wounded and the attacker, 18-year-old Faisal Mohammed, dead.

The FBI is making it clear there's no evidence Mohammed was instructed by any terrorist group, but it appears he was inspired by the Islamic State.

Initial reports indicated that Mohammad was upset about being kicked out of a study group, but the FBI report indicates he plotted the attack for at least a week and visited various terrorist websites, including those of the Islamic State.

Mohammad caused panic on the UC Merced campus when he stabbed a fellow student in a classroom, then three others as he ran across campus. All of the stabbing victims survived.

Mohammad was shot to death by a campus police officer after witnesses said he lunged at the officer with a knife.

In their report, the FBI said, "His laptop contained pro-ISIL propaganda, and he had visited ISIL and other extremist websites in the weeks prior to his attack. "

This false narrative was allowed to linger at least 4 months and to this day few remember this ISIS inspired attack.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”
